3rd Annual Dave Watson Memorial Car Show

By InQuinte.ca Staff Aug 11, 2025 | 2:45 PM

In 2023, local car enthusiast George Watson was asked to organize a car show at the Quinte Exhibition on September 1. George lost his father, best friend, and mentor, Dave Watson, on January 2, 2023, after several years living with dementia. George decided to dedicate the show to his father’s memory, creating the Dave Watson Memorial Car Show. The Watson family has a lifelong passion for building, racing, and showcasing classic cars, making the event a fitting tribute.

The cause hits close to home for the family. In addition to Dave, two other relatives on the Watson side have battled dementia. That’s why proceeds from the event are donated to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Since its inception on September 1, 2023, the event has raised and donated $4,024.55 to support dementia research and programs

This year’s show will take place on Sunday, August 31st, at the Quinte Exhibition Grounds. All vehicle types are welcome, including kustoms, rods, muscle, race cars, pickups, and vans. The entry fee is $10, and people can look forward to door prizes, a 50/50 draw, and cash prizes. As always, all proceeds will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Society.
