Belleville Police identify man arrested and victim in homicide investigation

Belleville Police have now identified the man arrested and the person who died in a homicide investigationĀ in the city’s west end early Tuesday morning.

On the 21st of May at 1:28am, members of the Belleville Police Service’s Uniform Division responded to a residence on Hastings Park Drive after receiving a report of a homicide at the residence.

Upon arrival, police located a deceased 26-year-old female and a 30-year-old male who had lacerations to his wrists inside the residence.

Based on police observations and the initial investigation, the male was arrested and taken to Kingston General Hospital for the treatment of his injuries.

As a result of the continued investigation into the homicide, the accused male, 30-year-old Tyler Donnelly of Belleville was charged with Second Degree Murder.

Donnelly has been remanded into custody.

The female victim has been identified as 26-year-old Shannan Leigh Hickey of Belleville.

Belleville Police say the accused and the victim were in a previous intimate partner relationship however remained living in the same residence.

The Belleville Police Criminal Investigations Division with assistance from the Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate the incident.
