Six charged under Project Renewal in Belleville

Six people have been charged after drugs and weapons were seized in Belleville last week.

On Friday, officers with Project Renewal, the Quinte West OPP Street Crime Unit, and Belleville ERT and K-9 units raided a home in the heart (central area) of the city.

The items seized included:

7.4 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine
1.7 grams of Heroin
91.7 grams of Fentanyl
$1,565.00 in Canadian currency
Brass Knuckles
Taser

A total of six people have been charged in the case.

Brian Orford 43yrs of Belleville has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – fentanyl S.5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – methamphetamine S.5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – heroin S.5(2) CDSA
  • Proceeds of crime under $5000 – Sec. 354(1)(a) CC

He was released on an undertaking

Joshua Pero 32yrs of Kingston has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – fentanyl S.5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – methamphetamine S.5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – heroin S.5(2) CDSA
  • Obstruct Peace Officer S.129(a) CC (at time of arrest, despite being cautioned with obstruct twice, provided a false name)
  • Breach of Probation S.733.1(1) CC
  • Proceeds of crime under $5000 – Sec. 354(1)(a) CC

He was held for bail.

Hope Walker 22yrs of Kingston has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – fentanyl S.5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – methamphetamine S.5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – heroin S.5(2) CDSA
  • Proceeds of crime under $5000 – Sec. 354(1)(a) CC

They were held for bail.

Nathan Jacobs 41yrs of Belleville has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – fentanyl S.5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – methamphetamine S.5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – heroin S.5(2) CDSA
  • Breach of Undertaking S.145(3) CC x 2
  • Possession of a Weapon contrary to a Prohibition Order S.117.01(1) X2 Proceeds of crime

He was held for bail.

Lisa Smith 45yrs of Belleville has been charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – methamphetamine S.5(2) CDSA
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – heroin S.5(2) CDSA
