Belleville Police arrested a man from Quinte West following a reported attack on a woman and a child in Belleville.
On September 8, 2026, at 6:55 p.m., Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute.
It was reported that a verbal argument between a male and female escalated into a physical altercation. During the incident, the male reportedly attempted to enter a room occupied by the female, damaging the door, before punching the female. The male then left the room and punched his 12-year-old child.
During the investigation, officers learned of an earlier incident that occurred within the same week in which the male kicked a hole in a door and pushed the female.
As a result of the investigation, a 42-year-old Quinte Westman was arrested and charged with:
