A new doctor has arrived in Hastings County.
Dr. Saad Mirza has joined Hastings County’s Family Physician Recruitment Program and is practicing with the Bancroft Community Family Health Team.
“From my first visit, Bancroft stood out as a community where people genuinely care for one another – a community with deep roots and a strong sense of belonging,” stated Dr. Mirza. “I am grateful for the opportunity to serve here and to contribute to improving access to primary care.”
“Family medicine is about more than treating illness, it’s about building relationships over time, supporting patients through life’s changes, and being a consistent presence in their care,” added Dr. Mirza.
“I hope to create a practice environment where patients feel comfortable, listened to, and confident in the care they receive.”
Dr. Mirza practiced previously in Pakistan for many years before relocating to Canada and being certified through the Ministry of Health’s Practice Ready Ontario Program.
“We are grateful to welcome Dr. Mirza to our program,” stated Warden Bob Mullin. “His extensive experience and steadfast commitment will provide lasting support to the residents of Bancroft in the years ahead.”
Hastings County has recruited 30 family doctors across its municipalities and two full-time emergency doctors for the North Hastings Hospital in Bancroft through our Physician Recruitment Program.
