Wednesday at approximately 9:10 p.m., police and the fire department responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 401 westbound in the Municipality of Port Hope.
Officers arrived at the scene where a pickup truck had collided with a guardrail. No serious injuries were reported.
After speaking with the driver, officers initiated an impaired driving investigation. As a result, the individual was taken into custody and transported to a local detachment for further testing.

The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in September.
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment were also imposed.

Prohibited Operation
Wednesday at approximately 2:20 a.m., an officer conducting traffic enforcement on Ontario Street in the Municipality of Brighton stopped a vehicle.
During the investigation, the driver was found to be prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.
As a result, John Ehret, 52, of Brighton, has been charged with operation while prohibited.
The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in October.
The vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
