Road closure for construction starting Wednesday in Quinte West

Detours will be in place starting Wednesday and last until in the fall near a closed section of road in Quinte West.

The municipality says North Trent Street in Frankford will be closed to through traffic between Adelaide Street and Huffman Road until October as construction continues on the installation of a second sanitary forcemain, an updated gravity sewer and completion of road reconstruction.

Updated detour routes from Huffman Road to Pitchers Road to County Road 5 (Mill Street) will be posted for the duration of the closure.

Access will be maintained at the construction area for emergency vehicles and local traffic only.

Municipal officials say work is progressing as scheduled and is expected to be completed in late fall 2026.
