The ground has been broken on a key new project in west-end Belleville.
Bay of Quinte MPP Tyler Allsopp joined Mayor Neil Ellis, city staff members and other dignitaries to mark the beginning of construction on the Avonlough Sewage Pumping Station.
City officials say this infrastructure project is a significant investment that will help increase servicing capacity as part of the Loyalist West Belleville Secondary Plan major growth area and help accommodate future residential growth in the area.
The project is expected to be completed in three phases and provide a capacity of 490 L/s, which will support the development of approximately 9,000 units
