Prince Edward County OPP officers have charged five drivers with impaired driving-related offences during the first nine days of August, demonstrating that impaired driving remains a significant threat to road safety in Prince Edward County.
On August 3, 2026, Prince Edward County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) program at an intersection in West Lake when a vehicle entered the checkpoint. Following the investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment.
Miranda Moore, age 50 of Picton, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
On August 7, 2026, officers responded to a single-vehicle collision in Athol. Following the investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment.
Chase McGinnis, age 18 of Picton, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Person under 19 years – possess cannabis
- Drive vehicle or boat with cannabis readily available
- Two counts of Fail to Comply with Release Order
On August 8, 2026, officers conducting a RIDE program in West Lake stopped a vehicle shortly before 7:00 p.m. Following the investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment.
Dhurkesh Srimanoharan, age 39 of Scarborough, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
On August 8, 2026, while conducting traffic enforcement in Picton, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. Following the investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment.
Jordan McCormack, age 32 of Prince Edward County, was charged with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
On August 9, 2026, officers responded to a single-vehicle collision in Demorestville. Following the investigation, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment.
Travis Swain, age 36 of Demorestville, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
