More than 400 community members gathered Saturday evening for The Children’s Foundation’s annual Gala, “A Night in Éire”, presented by McDougall Insurance. The Irish-inspired celebration was filled with generosity, laughter, and a shared commitment to supporting local children and youth.
The sold-out event raised over $408,000, the highest total ever raised at a Guardian Angel Gala. Proceeds support The Children’s Foundation’s programs that help children and youth across Hastings, Northumberland, and Prince Edward Counties explore, learn, play, and thrive.
Guests enjoyed an evening filled with Irish-inspired hospitality, entertainment, and powerful storytelling. One of the most moving moments of the night came when youth speaker Cassie Robertson shared her personal journey and the role The Children’s Foundation’s Reach for Success program played in helping her pursue post-secondary education.
After hearing Robertson speak about how community support helped open doors for her, guests responded in a powerful way.
The evening’s Fund A Need initiative raised an incredible $125,500 to support Reach for Success scholarships and bursaries, ensuring more young people across the region have the opportunity to continue their education and build a brighter future.
“The support in the room was truly remarkable,” said Ingrid Moore, Executive Director of The Children’s Foundation.
“When Cassie shared her story, you could feel the entire room lean in. That moment reminded us why this work matters so deeply. Because of the incredible response shown at A Night in Éire, more young people in Hastings, Northumberland, and Prince Edward Counties will have the opportunity to pursue their educational dreams.”
Gala Chair Cassandra Bonn said the evening reflected the strength of the community’s commitment to local children. “This event represents months of dedication from an incredible team of volunteers, sponsors, and partners,” stated Bonn.
“Seeing local supporters come together with such enthusiasm and generosity was incredibly moving. The success of the evening shows just how much this community believes in investing in the potential of our young people.”
Funds raised through the Guardian Angel Gala will directly support The Children’s Foundation’s programs that remove barriers and create opportunities for children and youth throughout the region.
