Building activity for the month of February in Prince Edward County is down year-to-year.
The County’s Chief Building Official Ryan Arcand shared with the public that 17 permits were issued last month, down from 35 issued in February of 2025.
The construction value was also impacted, falling from 8.1 million last February to around $1.5 million this year.
This is contributing to a lower overall year-to-date building picture in PEC, with 38 permits issued in the first two months of the year worth around $5.1 million as opposed to January and February of 2025, where 63 permits were issued at a cost of $10.8 million.
