Celebrating a century of film in Quinte West

By Brock Ormond Mar 30, 2026 | 1:25 PM
It’s a celebration that’s been a century in the making for Film.ca Centre Cinemas.
Dignitaries and guests were invited to the official unveiling of the Hollywood North mural on Friday, marking the 100th Anniversary of the Trenton theatre and one year since reopening as Film.Ca Centre Cinemas.
We were honoured to welcome delegates from Bay of Quinte MP Chris Malette and MPP Tyler Allsopp offices, along with representatives from Mayor Jim Harrison’s office, the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce, and the DBIA who presented CEO Jeff Knoll and COO Bryn Perras with official certificates recognizing the 100-year milestone.
Theatre officials offer a special thank you to Christopher Bennett of SERNA custom Artwork, who helped bring the mural to life and St. Paul Catholic School choir for their beautiful performance of a song from the 1928 film Carry On, Sergeant, filmed in Trenton.
“This celebration was a powerful reminder of the history, creativity, and community that make Trenton so special,” theatre officials stated.
