Suspect charged following break-in at business in downtown Belleville

Belleville Police have charged a suspect following a break-in at a business in the downtown core.

On February 19th (Thursday) at 9:58am, Belleville Police responded to a report of a break and enter at a business in the city’s downtown area.

It was reported that an employee had arrived at work in the morning and observed an unknown male leaving the premises. Upon investigation, it was observed that the door was damaged from being broken into.

Officers reviewed surveillance footage and were able to identify a suspect. 

Later that day, officers responded to a separate call from a different business for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers located the male who was the suspect in
the earlier incident.

As a result of police investigation, a 31yearold Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

Break and enter
Fail to comply with a probation order

He was held for a bail hearing.
