Reminders for appropriate times to call 9-1-1

The Quinte West OPP are sending out reminders on when to call 9-1-1.

Call 9-1-1 for emergencies requiring immediate assistance from police, fire, or paramedics.

Call 9-1-1 when someone’s health, safety, or property is in imminent danger, such as for chest pain, difficulty breathing, serious collisions, crimes in progress, or fires.

For all other non-urgent police matters, the Ontario Provincial Police dispatch can be reached 24/7 at 1-888-310-1122. The Quinte West detachment can be reached for non-emergencies at 613-393-3561 a member will direct your call appropriately.
