Power outage strikes south side of Belleville on Friday morning.

By Paul Martin Feb 20, 2026 | 9:12 AM

The lights went out just as the morning drive was ending on the south side of Belleville on Friday morning.

Elexicon has reported that a power outage affecting 500-5,000 customers began in the south-central area of Belleville around 8:50 am.

The area includes the area around Jane Forester Park and the Quinte Consolidated Courthouse.

Callers to our newsroom report that traffic lights are also out in the downtown core all along Front Street up to College and over to Dundas Street and College, as well.

There is no word yet on the cause of the outage or an estimated time of restoration.
