Jets 4 Pirates 3 (OT)
The Picton Pirates came up just short in a 4-3 overtime loss at home to the Amherstview Jets on Thursday at home.
Picton couldn’t hold leads of 2-0 and 3-1 and yielded the winner in bonus action to Thomas Elkins.
Tyler Braund scored his first as a Pirate, with other Picton tallies being recorded by Wesley Jackson and Gerrit Kempers.
Nolan Lane was busy in net, making 44 saves on 48 shots.
Raiders 7 Thunder 2
Seven different players found the back of the net for the Napanee Raiders in a Friday night victory over the Trent Hills Thunder.
Ryan McGee led the way with a goal and two assists, while Zered Haller, Andrew Carr and Trent Williams all had two points each.
Single tallies went to Matthew Airhart, Owen Kish and Reid Lambert.
Jacob Brown stopped 26 for Napanee.
Russell Duguay and Carter Rightmeyer replied for Trent Hills, with Zack Barfitt making 40 saves.
Pirates 3 Huskies 2
The Pirates made up for the tough loss on Thursday by squeezing two points with some late dramatics in Frankford.
Keenan Wiles scored with about a minute left in the third to upend the Huskies.
Frankford came back from 2-0 down to tie the game late in the third on markers from Nolan Donnelly and Riley Grimmon before Wiles’ heroics.
Cole Stevenson had a shorthanded goal and an assist and Colby Leaver notched a single tally in the win.
Lane was outstanding again with 37 stops for Picton, while Liam Boyer and Noah Groeneveld split the net for Frankford.
Raiders 4 Jets 2
Capping off a busy day at the PJHL All-Star Challenge, Mason Goodfellow notched a goal as part of a Napanee victory in Amherstview.
Ben Kerr added a pair for the Raiders and Lambert chipped in with one.
Denholm Blair denied 33 for the victory.
Other representatives for the Raiders for the Tod Division include Carr, Brown and Jackson Barnes.
The Tod defeated the Orr Division 5-2 on Sunday.
The win was also helped by two Picton Pirates (Kempers and Luc Amat), six Frankford Huskies (Blake Ellis, Ty McCambridge, Spencer Stanutz, Deke Osterhout and Keegan Juchau), and two Trent Hills Thunder representatives (Brodey Brooks and Owen Ellis).
