Two separate impaired driving incidents kept Belleville Police officers busy this past weekend.

Before 2 a.m. Saturday, Belleville Police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the city’s north end and conducted a traffic stop. Officers observed signs of impairment while speaking with the driver.

As a result of investigation, Devin Kearley, a 25-year-old Kanata man, was arrested and charged with impaired driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.

Then after 4 p.m. Sunday, Belleville Police observed a vehicle parked unusually in the city’s east end. Officers approached the vehicle and found a female slumped over the steering wheel.

Rhonda Giorano, a 34-year-old Belleville woman, was arrested and charged with impaired operation and failure to comply with a release order

Both were released on undertakings with February court dates.
