Representatives of local municipalities are advocating for key priorities at the annual ROMA Conference in Toronto.
The conference, which began Sunday and runs until Tuesday, includes representation from Belleville and Mayor Neil Ellis, CAO Matt MacDonald, and Couns. Margaret Seu, Barb Enright-Miller and Sean Kelly.
Premier Doug Ford addressed the delegates Monday morning, and municipal officials say representatives are looking to speak with MPPs and other municipal leaders throughout the conference.
Meanwhile, Couns. Shelley Stedall and Dave O’Neill, along with CAO Chris Angelo, are part of the Quinte West delegation in the big city.
Meetings are being scheduled with the Ministry of Infrastructure, advocating for funding for major projects such as the County Road 40 Bridge Replacement, Replacement and Widening of the Murray Canal Swing Bridge and Trenton Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrades.
Representatives will also attend sessions on building stronger communities through partnerships at all levels of government.
