Incident with scissors leads to arrest at Belleville business

A Belleville man faces charges after an incident with scissors at a local business.

On January 15th at 2:49am, Belleville Police responded to a business on Dundas Street East regarding a disturbance. It was reported that a male was refusing to leave the building and was threatening staff while holding a pair of scissors. Prior to police arrival, the male fled the area on foot.

As a result of investigation, officers located, arrested and charged a 32-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address with:

· Assault with a weapon X2

· Criminal Harassment

· Uttering threats

· Resist peace officer

· Fail to comply with a probation order X2

He was held for a bail hearing. No name was released.
