Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals following a traffic stop in Campbellford.
On January 15, 2025, at around 2:50 p.m., while on patrol, OPP attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven by a prohibited driver. Both motorist and passenger who were wanted, reportedly fled on foot from police and were shortly taken into custody by officers with assistance from members of the Peterborough-Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU).
A search yielded a quantity of suspected methamphetamine and ammunition.
Jeremy RICHARDSON (45) of no fixed address, has been charged with:
- Flight from peace officer
- Fail to comply with probation order – two counts
- Operation while prohibited
Jennifer BRIDGES (45) of no fixed address, has been charged with:
- Possession of Schedule I substance – Methamphetamine
- Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
- Fail to comply with probation order
Both accused were held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg. The vehicle has been impounded for 45 days.
