Childcare funding approved for local organizations

The Community and Human Services Committee has approved a recommendation to Hastings County Council to sign off on childcare funding agreements.

The committee approved a 2026 Child Care, EarlyON and Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care Transfer Payment Agreement with a funding allocation of $41,559,825 and program funding within the TPA of more than $1.3 million to be distributed to three local childcare spaces.

These include;

• $852,502 to Family Space Quinte Inc.,
• $338,295 to North Hastings Children’s Services,
• $162,381 to Trenton Military Family Resource Centre, (including
Francophone services)

Additionally, more than $292,000 will be distributed for the Algonquin Inodewiziwin Child and Family Centre, Indigenous-led initiative, Anishinaabe Baptiste Community Organization.
