Belleville Police dealt with a couple of driving related incidents and arrested a person on the strength of a warrant this past weekend.
Around 7:30 Friday evening, Belleville Police conducting proactive patrol in the city’s north end reportedly noticed a vehicle operating without a front licence plate.
Further investigation revealed the plate was not authorized for that vehicle and after conducting a traffic stop, learned the driver was operating the vehicle while suspended.
Additional investigation determined the driver was also a prohibited driver, with several driving prohibitions for numerous offences.
Duy Nguyen, 38, of Oshawa was arrested and charged with seven counts of driving while prohibited and one count each of operating a motor vehicle without insurance, driving while under suspension, driving a vehicle without two plates, driving without a permit and using unauthorized plates.
He was held for a bail hearing.
