UPDATE: One person deceased following head-on collision on Hwy 7, remains closed between 38 & 41

A head-on collision east of Kaladar has left one person deceased.

On Friday, January 16th, 2026, shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Highway 7, between Kaladar and Arden Road. A transport truck and pick-up truck had been involved in a collision.

Officers with the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Central Frontenac Township Firefighters and Frontenac Paramedics responded to the scene.

The driver of the pick-up, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the transport was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries.

The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from members of the OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team, including a Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigators.

Highway 7 remains closed between Highways 38 and 41. Monitor OPP social media for updated information.

Emergency crews are responding to a serious collision involving a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle.
