$207,000 in items seized at Collins Bay Institution

Another contraband seizure has been made at a regional prison.

As a result of the vigilance of staff members, multiple packages containing contraband and unauthorized items were seized at Collins Bay Institution, a multi-level security federal institution on Tuesday.

The items seized included tobacco, marijuana, “shatter” (cannabis concentrate), as well as edged weapons.

The total estimated institutional value of these seizures is approximately $207,221.

More than $290,000 in items were seized between Dec. 30, 2025 and Jan. 16 at the institution.
