Man charged with impaired driving after someone found asleep in vehicle in Belleville

A man found asleep inside a vehicle has been charged in Belleville.

On December 31st at 3:19am, Belleville Police responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver after a male was observed to be asleep in the driver’s seat of a vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers repeatedly knocked on the driver’s side window to wake the male and subsequently observed signs of impairment.

As a result, a 49-year-old Belleville man was arrested with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs.

The investigation remains ongoing. No name was released.
