Belleville Police have arrested a man on multiple charges after a break-in was reported on Tuesday morning in the downtown core.

On December 9th at 8:05am, Belleville Police, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit and K9 Unit, attended a business in the downtown area regarding a report of a break and enter. Upon arrival, staff reported that the door to the business was found unlocked when they arrived that morning. They also observed that the interior had been ransacked and that personal property was inside.

During the investigation, officers located a male inside the business.

As a result, Andrew Borchert, 43-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

· Break and enter

· Mischief under $5000

· Fail to comply with a probation order

He was held for a bail hearing.
