An inmate from a maximum-security prison in Bath has died while in custody.
Daniel Lalonde, an inmate from Millhaven Institution’s Regional Treatment Centre, died of apparent natural causes, according to the Correctional Service of Canada.
At the time of death, the inmate was 71 years old and had been serving a life sentence since December 9, 2020.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances.
CSC policy requires that the police and the coroner be notified.
