Hawks ‘buzzed’ on Tuesday night

By Brock Ormond Dec 9, 2025 | 10:35 PM

The Trenton Golden Hawks uneven last few weeks continued with another tough loss to the St. Michael’s Buzzers.

The Buzzers defeated Trenton for the second time head-to-head this season, 3-1 on Tuesday night at St. Michael’s College Arena.

The Hawks fell behind 1-0 after one period on a goal from Julian Mandarino and were climbing uphill to try and tie the game.

Julian Campoli jammed in the eventual winner past Hayden Jeffery at 7:47 of the second on a powerplay, increasing St. Mike’s lead to 2-0 at the time.

Jaxon Broda cut into the deficit with his fourth of the season late in the period, rushing into the St. Mike’s zone and tipping a return pass from Wyatt Gregory through Jonathan Frattaroli, but Trenton couldn’t get closer despite its best efforts.

The Hawks tossed 15 shots at Frattaroli in the third, but never broke the Buzzers netminder.

Tyler Clark added an empty netter to seal the Hawks fate.

Jeffery made 21 saves as Trenton came back to outshoot St. Mike’s 30-24.

The Hawks fall to 20-7-0-2, sitting seven points behind first place Stouffville going into a key matchup with the Spirit at the Duncan McDonald Community Gardens at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
