By Paul Martin Dec 10, 2025 | 10:25 AM

A historical sex offence allegation has led to a Deseronto man being arrested and facing criminal charges.

In early February 2025, the Lennox and Addington County (L&A) Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was notified of a historical sexual offence allegation in the Town of Deseronto that spanned from 2012 to 2025.

On Monday, December 5, 2025, following an extensive police investigation involving the L&A Crime Unit and in consultation with the Attorney General, a male in his 30’s from Deseronto, was charged with:

  • Corrupting Children
  • Invitation to sexual touching – under 16 years of age

The accused, who can not be identified to protect the victim, was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee at a later date.
