Sunday was a dangerous day on roadways across the Quinte Region.
Heavy snowfall was the backdrop for multiple crashes including ones that caused several significant delays on the 401 between Brighton and Kingston.
In Quinte West, Fire Chief John Whalen says they responded to half a dozen collisions over the course of the afternoon and early evening.
The most serious crash was on Foxboro Stirling Road around 5:30 pm.
One vehicle left the roadway and rolled. Firefighters had to extricate the female driver who was taken by paramedics to hospital for the treatment of serious injuries.
Roads across the Quinte region are still slick on Monday morning as the cleanup from the weekend storm continues.
