ALCDSB’s 50/50 Raffle about to hit $30,000

By Paul Martin Dec 10, 2025 | 10:23 AM

The jackpot is rising quickly in a draw to be held this week at the local Catholic School Board.

Open to all Ontarians, 18 and older, the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board’s first two raffles were a tremendous success for both winners and the community. One winner took home more than $13,000 and another walked away with over $33,000.
The current draw prize stands at $30,000 and rising.  It closes on Friday, December 12 at noon.
Proceeds support the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic Education Foundation (ALCE Foundation), which assists local families during times of crisis, including food insecurity, utility bills, and transportation needs.
“To date, the 50/50 raffles have generated approximately $40,000 for the Foundation, and this final raffle of 2025 will make an even greater difference before the end of the year,” said Leila Goyer, Chair of the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic Education Foundation. “We know the holidays can be difficult for many. On behalf of the Foundation, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported this initiative.”
