RW Tomlinson Limited is concluding work on Phase 3 of the Picton Main St reconstruction project for 2025.

The road returned to two-lane traffic with no signals as of Friday, Dec 12.

This past fall, work crews completed the sanitary and storm sewer work on the west side of the road from #454 County Rd 49 to Fawcett ave. A single layer of temporary asphalt was placed to allow the municipality to reopen the road during the winter months. The surface will be maintained throughout the winter. A new roadway will be installed when the entire project is complete.

RW Tomlinson Limited will resume construction in the spring of 2026 and continue work until Dec 2026. One lane traffic will be maintained at all times and alternate routes will be identified.

Work will include sanitary and storm sewer replacement and extension from Fawcett Ave to Folkard Ln, watermain replacement from #454 County Rd 49 to Folkard Ln, installation of new roadway, curbs, sidewalk, and street lighting from #454 County Rd 49 to Folkard Ln.

The municipality will provide an update prior to construction resuming in the spring. To sign up for notices, click here. Notices will also appear in the local newspapers and on the municipality’s FacebookTwitter, and Instagram accounts.
