A local baseball tournament was a home run when it came to raising money for local cancer care.
Belleville General Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce a generous donation of $12,252 raised through the combined efforts of the annual Tree of Life Baseball Tournament and 150 Sidney Street Shoppers Drug Mart.
The funds will directly support cancer care at Quinte Health, Belleville General Hospital.
Now in its 11th year, the Tree of Life Tournament has raised over $121,000 through the much-anticipated baseball tournament to raise essential funding that benefit residents across the region.
This year’s efforts drew 21 teams and over 1,000 players and volunteers from across the area, all unified behind a shared mission of enhancing access to quality cancer care.
“The incredible turnout from players, volunteers, local businesses, and supporters made this year’s Tree of Life tournament a huge success,” said tournament Co-organizers, Nancy Seeman and Jason Brown. “This donation highlights the power of community collaboration and we’re very proud to contribute and make a meaningful difference in so many people’s lives.”
Funds raised will go toward priority needs of the oncology department at Belleville General Hospital, helping strengthen services and improve the experience for cancer patients, close to home.
