10th annual CopShop returns to bring holiday cheer

The holidays are arriving early for a group of local children as the Quinte Mall, the Belleville Police Service, and The Children’s Foundation come together once again for one of the community’s most cherished traditions.

Now in its 10th year, CopShop returns to Belleville to brighten the season and celebrate the true spirit of giving.

This year’s event pairs twelve local children with members of the Belleville Police Service who volunteer their time to act as each child’s personal holiday shopper.

Each participating child receives a Quinte Mall gift card, warm winter essentials, and gifts generously provided by Quinte Mall retailers and local businesses.

The initiative is an opportunity to provide support, warmth and kindness to families and children over the holiday season.

The event also aims to build personal relationships and meaningful connections between police and youth that last beyond the holiday season.

The generosity this event brings reflects the best of Belleville, Deputy Police Chief Sheri Meeks stated.

“Every year, our members volunteer their time to help make the holidays brighter for local children, and the generosity we see is a welcome reminder that Belleville is a special place to live and a community we are fortunate to serve.”

“As a community, we have the power to make children feel seen, valued, and supported,” Executive Director of The Children’s Foundation Ingrid Moore stated.

“CopShop is a beautiful example of what happens when caring partners come together to make a difference.”

Jessica Khouri, Marketing Manager at Quinte Mall, stated this is mall staff’s ‘favourite day of the year.”

“We’re proud to host this event, and it’s a privilege to help create a magical experience for these children. Supporting families, lifting spirits, and seeing the joy this day brings is at the heart of what community means to us at Quinte Mall,” Khouri stated.
