Two people were charged with public intoxication in separate incidents over the weekend in Belleville.
On November 22nd (Saturday) at 9:54pm, Belleville Police received a report of a dispute in the city’s east end. It was reported that a female became combative and then left the residence. Officers attended the area and located the female outside a business. Officers reported that the female was extremely intoxicated.
For her own safety, a 31-year-old Ottawa woman was arrested under the Liquor Licence and Control Act with being intoxicated in a public place.
A public intoxication charge was also laid following a separate incident on Sunday.
On November 23rd at 12:54am, Belleville Police responded to a report of a disturbance at a business on North Front St. It was reported that a female was banging on the door with a stick for approximately 30 minutes. Upon arrival, officers located the female who was reportedly extremely intoxicated.
For her own safety, a 53-year-old Belleville woman was arrested under the Liquor Licence and Control Act with being intoxicated in a public place.
