Traffic stop leads to drug seizure and arrests in Bancroft

A traffic stop in Bancroft has led to two arrests and the seizure of illegal drugs.

On Monday, November 17, 2025, an officer with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol on Hastings Street North when he stopped a vehicle.

The driver was arrested in connection with an incident earlier this month.

A search of the vehicle located suspected methamphetamine, resulting in a passenger in the car also being arrested. More than 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine was seized, along with cash and items associated with drug use.

Drew JESSUP, age 36 of Coe Hill, was charged with:

Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
Fail to comply with a probation order
Fail to comply with a release order

This accused was scheduled to appear for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

Victoria BURKE, age 34 of Wollaston Township, was charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance. This accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on December 2, 2025.
