The 2025 Adopt-a-Child / Keep Kids Warm program has officially wrapped up for the season, marking another tremendous year of community support for local families.
This year, the program provided new winter outerwear to over 1,200 children across Belleville, Stirling, Prince Edward County, and Central Hastings.
The Adopt-a-Child program ensures that children from low-income families and those on assistance start the winter season with warm coats, hats, mitts, and boots.
“Every year, our community shows just how much it cares,” said Cst. Blake, Keep Kids Warm Chairperson. “Thanks to the incredible generosity of donors and the dedication of our volunteers, thousands of children will stay warm this winter. We are deeply grateful for the kindness, time, and energy so many people have given. It’s a powerful reminder of the compassion and strength that define our community.”
The program’s success would not have been possible without the dedication of a strong team of passionate and hard-working volunteers, whose commitment made every registration, packaging, and pick-up possible. Organizers also extend heartfelt thanks to the many individuals, businesses, and organizations that donated funds, clothing, and support throughout the season.
As the 2025 season comes to a close, organizers are already looking ahead to next year, continuing their mission to ensure that no child goes without warm winter clothing.
