Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board elects Chair and Vice-Chair

Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board Trustees on Tuesday night elected Trustee Paul Brown as Chairperson of the Board, and elected Trustee Angela Lloyd as Vice-chairperson. At the annual organizational meeting of the Board, trustees also confirmed meeting dates and banking arrangements for the coming year.

Chairperson Brown represents the represents the Municipality of Clarington. He is currently serving his first term as Trustee, and is the immediate past Vice-Chairperson of the Board, and has also served as Chairperson of the Board’s Program Review, Audit and Real Estate Disposal Committees.

“These are incredibly important days in public education — locally elected Trustees take great pride in living and being a part of the communities they represent. Together, we are united in our dedication to the communities we serve,” says Chairperson Brown. “It is an honour and a privilege to be entrusted by the Board with this leadership role. We are passionate in our commitment and collective responsibility to continue to do all that we can to put students at the heart of our decision making.”

Vice – Chairperson Lloyd represents the Townships of Asphodel-Norwood, Cavan Monaghan, Douro Dummer and Otonabee-South Monaghan, and is a past Chairperson and Vice-chairperson of the Board.

“Every year we have an opportunity to re-dedicate ourselves to making local decisions in the public interest that best meet the needs of the students and families we serve,” says Vice-chairperson Lloyd. “It is my great pleasure to serve the Board in this role, and we remain focused on inspiring our students to excel in learning, succeed in life, and enrich our communities.”
