The Wellington Dukes needed only one big period to get another win on Sunday night.
The Dukes put five in the Oakville Blades net in the opening frame and cruised to a 5-1 victory at Lehigh Arena.
Wellington struck three times on the powerplay to slow the Blades and didn’t show many signs of rust after a week layoff.

The offence kept coming from Landon Marleau, who got a bounce in front of the net for a deke and his eighth goal of the season.

Despite being outshot 29-13 in the final two periods, the Dukes anchored the net well thanks to Booth-Housego and the defence for keeping the Blades to perimeter shots and clearing out any rebounds.
Carrier finished with a three point night, while Sacha Trudel added two assists and Booth-Housego made 36 saves in improving the Dukes to 12-10-2-4 on the season and 30 points to sit them sixth in the East Conference.
The Dukes stay home and face the Haliburton County Huskies for the third time this season on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
