CUPE 1842 Paramedics invite community to “Fill Our Wheels With Holiday Meals” Food Drive this Saturday

By Paul Martin Nov 18, 2025 | 5:04 AM

CUPE local 1842 and Hastings-Quinte Paramedic Services are inviting the community to join us for our annual “Fill Our Wheels With Holiday Meals” food drive this Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Belleville Metro.

This annual initiative brings together paramedics and community members to help support local families facing food insecurity during the holiday season. Our goal is simple but powerful: fill a frontline ambulance with non-perishable food items and holiday meal essentials to be distributed to those who need it most in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties.

“Our paramedics see firsthand how many families in our region struggle during the winter months,” said CUPE local 1842 paramedic and food drive organizer. “The kindness and generosity we witness during this event each year truly embodies the spirit of our community.”

Residents are encouraged to stop by, meet their local paramedics, and drop off donations such as canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, baby items, and other non-perishable staples. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

Every contribution — large or small — helps make the holidays brighter for families in our community.
