Take a Journey Through Restoration at local Recovery Day event Nov. 20

By Brock Ormond Nov 13, 2025 | 2:19 PM

The Canadian Mental Health Association Hastings Prince Edward, along with local community partners, is proud to host this year’s Recovery Day event on Thursday, November 20 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 250 Sidney Street, Belleville, in the Atrium.

Recovery Day is a national observance held in communities across Canada to celebrate and support individuals living in recovery from addiction, mental health challenges, and trauma.

This year’s theme, Recovery is Real: Restoring Every Aspect of Life, highlights that recovery is not a one-size-fits-all process — it’s personal, complex, and deeply human.

The 2025 Belleville event, Journey Through Restoration, invites community members to join an afternoon of connection, reflection, and creativity, with:

• Local partner booths showcasing resources and services

• Interactive activities that reflect the diverse paths to recovery

• Personal stories of recovery to inspire hope and healing

• Prizes, refreshments, and an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere

In Canada, 1 in 5 people will experience a substance use disorder in their lifetime, and more than 1 in 3 Canadians will face a mental health or addiction-related challenge during their lifetime.

Many individuals live with both mental health and substance use issues, overlapping struggles that require compassionate, integrated support.

These numbers highlight the urgent need for awareness, accessible care, and recovery resources in every community.

Recovery is real. No one should have to walk that journey alone. We welcome everyone in the community to attend this free event to celebrate healing, connect with others, and hear powerful personal stories of recovery.
