A verbal disagreement that reportedly escalated into an assault has resulted in charges for a Belleville woman of no fixed address.

Around 4 p.m. Monday, Belleville Police officers visited a north end apartment complex where a woman had been in an argument, which escalated to her swinging her arm at a resident while holding a weapon.

Officers also learned that the female was on conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

46-year old Amanda Lake was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

Belleville Police also dealt with a incident involving a reported roommate dispute and threats yesterday evening.

After 7 p.m., police attended an east end residence where a man had been reportedly threatening his roommate by indicating he was going to slit his throat.

It was also learned that the male was on conditions to be of good behaviour.
