WEDNESDAY UPDATE- Repairs are continuing after a hydro pole was heavily damaged in a two vehicle collision on the east side of Trenton Tuesday morning.

Around 10:15 am, a two-vehicle crash happened involving an OPP cruiser where one of the vehicles struck and heavily damaged a hydro pole on Dundas street east.

Fortunately, there were no serious injuries.

Dundas Street East at Flindall Street reopened to traffic before 6 Tuesday evening and an investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE at 1 PM from OPP – Dundas Street East will be closed at Flindall Street for several hours to allow for the replace of a hydro pole, damaged in a collision this morning. Please use RCAF Road and Curtis Road/Dixon Drive as a detour. If you must visit a local Dundas East business, utilize the Canadian Tire parking lot as a detour. Please drive carefully in the area and be courteous to others.

ORIGINAL STORY  – A two-vehicle collision has slowed traffic to a halt at an intersection in Trenton.

The crash happened around 10:15 Tuesday morning on Dundas Street East and Flindall Street, OPP stated and one of the vehicles was reportedly an OPP cruiser.

A call to Inquinte.ca reported one of the vehicles went into a light pole and hydro wires in the area of McDonald’s in Trenton are down.

Police and fire are on scene to investigate.

No serious injuries have been reported, but Hastings-Quinte paramedics were still called in as a precaution.

Drivers are advised that traffic will continue to be slow in the area and to find an alternate route.

Fire trucks have Dundas blocked at McDonald’s on the east side with traffic being diverted through the parking lot, and Flindall Street to the west.

No eastbound traffic is getting through past that point.

Further details may be coming on this collision later on Tuesday.
