Update provided on Murray Centennial addition

An update has been provided on the addition currently being constructed at Murray Centennial Public School in Quinte West.

At the meeting of the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board on Tuesday, trustees heard an update on several projects, including the one at Murray Centennial.

The report says construction continues for an over 22,000 square foot addition, including three new Kindergarten classrooms, four regular classrooms, staff and student collaborative spaces, and a new septic system.

As of September 30, structural work and major building elements were substantially in place, with ongoing progress on envelope closure.

The next phase will focus on interior finishes and advancing mechanical/electrical, followed by exterior finishes and site development.

The completion date is projected at this time to be mid-December, with the intent for students to be utilizing the space in early January 2026, with some spring/summer landscaping work still to complete.
