UPDATE: Arrests in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory cannabis raids

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 7, 2025 | 9:16 AM

UPDATE: Several more arrests have been laid in the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory region Tuesday morning.

The Tyendinaga Police Service stated officers executed a search warrant and arrested two people at a location on the Territory.

Five suspects fled on foot, but were eventually apprehended and taken into custody with the help of OPP specialty units.

All seven people in custody were found to be non-community members.

This makes 17 arrests since the large-scale police operations started last month.

A note for those on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory that joint police operations will be continuing throughout the community today.

Community members can expect a higher than normal police presence as officers and investigators from Tyendinaga Police and the OPP seek out more illegal cannabis grow-ops in the region.

So far, police have seized 72,000 illicit cannabis plants valued at more than $122 million and three firearms and have made several arrests.

Out of 10 arrests made to this point, six of them have been from outside the Territory.

Keep track of activity by going to the Tyendinaga Police Facebook page.
