Marmora man charged after death threats uttered

A person in Marmora was apprehended after employees at an organization in Belleville were reportedly threatened on Wednesday.

At approximately 11:15am, Belleville Police received a report of a male uttering death threats toward the employees.

Belleville Police, with assistance from the Criminal Investigation Division and Emergency Response Unit, launched an investigation and learned the suspect was in Marmora.

With support from Central Hastings OPP, the male was taken into custody after 12:30 p.m. without incident.

The organization was in lockdown until the suspect was located.

A 25-year-old Marmora man was arrested and charged for uttering threats. He was held for a bail hearing.
