The County of Prince Edward will conduct localized fire flow testing in the Picton Drinking Water System on Thursday, Oct 9.
Testing will take place on Barker St and Center St between the hours of 9am and 11am.
Flow testing and rating is conducted to support fire protection in The County. Fire fighters use the fire hydrant rating result to anticipate the water supply available through a hydrant when they arrive at the scene of a fire.
During hydrant fire flow testing, customers are asked to avoid excessive water use (Example: running tap water for extended periods, using the washing machine and dish washer simultaneously).
This work is not expected to impact water quality; however, customers in the immediate area where flow tests are being conducted may experience intermittent pressure fluctuations and some discolouration of tap water while testing is being completed. This does not affect the safety or quality of your water.
