Initial list of candidates chosen for MBQ election

An unofficial list of nominations for the upcoming Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte Band Council election has been formed.

Three people, including incumbent R. Donald Maracle, are vying for the Chief position, while 19 candidates are on the ballot to be councillors.

These candidates were all chosen during a nomination meeting held on the Mohawk Territory over the weekend.

The election goes on December 6.
