A home in the Rossmore area was destroyed in a huge fire on Tuesday afternoon.

Prince Edward County Firefighters responded to a fully-involved two-storey home on Davidson Road at 12:32 pm.

No one was home at the time and there were no injuries.

The home is considered a complete loss and damage is being estimated at around $1.7 million.

The fire was contained but not yet out as of 2 pm.

The cause is undetermined, but County officials say it is not being considered suspicious.
