Five people sent to hospital following multi-vehicle crash on 401 near Kingston

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 23, 2025 | 9:14 AM

Five people, including an infant, were transported to the hospital following a six-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Kingston on Wednesday morning.

Officers with the Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene on the eastbound lanes near Sydenham Road just before 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Frontenac Paramedics and Kingston Fire Department also responded to crash.

One driver initially lost control of their vehicle, resulting in a chain reaction collision, involving five passenger vehicles and a tractor trailer.

The five people transported to hospital had either minor injuries or were being checked out as a precaution.

While the highway remained open, there were temporary lane closures in place.

The investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
